2. Why should we outsource the Release of Information?
Whether a medical clinic or a doctor's office, you need to deal with an increasing number of Release of Information requests. To provide the right information you need a lot of time, knowledge, accessories and most important – you need to comply with HIPAA regulations and guidelines. 3. Is my practice at risk by using Actonís services?
No. We operate under a standard Business Associates agreement and you are considered a covered entity.  If there is any violation that occurs with ROI while we are providing service, we will assume full responsibility for the complaint.  Acton Corporation carries a substantial Errors and Omissions insurance policy to cover any such mistake.
4. The service sounds great but we would have to buy another license from our EMR company?
This is typically not a problem.  We are willing to accept start up cost associated with doing business your practice.  Depending on the price we may ask for a commitment to use our service for an agreed on amount of time.

5. Do you fax or send medical records electronically?
Yes, With the emerging technologies and requirements in today’s medical field, we have developed a safe and secure method for transmitting records according to HIPAA guidelines. All information that is sent is password protected and encrypted to ensure patient confidentiality.

6. To whom do you release information?

Upon written request/consent, medical information can be released to individuals, other service providers, lawyers or any other authorized party in accordance with the Health Information Act.
   
7. What if I have questions?
Each facility is assigned a copy representative and a service manager which will allow you instant answers to any questions that might arise.  We also have a toll free number to answer any general questions you may have.
